Beware, guides are a dime a dozen here on the Texas Coast!
Do your homework and ask the right questions before hiring a guide!
There are tons of guides claiming to have fished this area for years,
but does that mean living somewhere else, and occaisionally coming
and doing a little recreational fishing once or twice a year?
Is the guide you are fixing to hire, working at another job and just
guiding part time to make a boat and truck payment or are they
a dedicated professional guide that this is their livelihood? Are you
hiring a guide that is going to yell and scream at you when you miss
a fish? Yes there are plenty of them that do!!!! Have you found a guide
that is priced considerably lower than others you have found on the Internet,
there is usually a good reason for that, and you are probably fixing to
get an expensive boat ride!! Ask for references, how many days a year
do they fish clients, how long they have been a Coast Guard licensed
Captain, how long they have been guiding full time, what size of boat
do they fish and how old is the boat and motor, and most of all,
do they guarantee you will be treated with kindness and  respect!!!!
